Stonyhill welcomed back friends from Romford Bowling Association (RBA) for a friendly on Saturday January 21 when the home team celebrated victory.

TOP TEAM: Stonyhill Bowls Director Byron Davies, left, with Frank Tipson, Barbara Hann and Derek Croll. Beryl Robinson had to leave before the presentation.
Six rinks were in play and after 21 ends, the overall score was 181 – 72.
At the after-match dinner, Stonyhill Bowls Director Byron Davies said: “We have had an enjoyable afternoon and it has been good to meet you all again.”
He thanked the club catering team – Viv, Jackie and cook Wendy – for serving a delicious meal of steak and Guinness pie with potatoes and vegetables, followed by blueberry crumble cheesecake and cream.
He presented traditional gifts to players on the home team’s top-scoring rink: skip Frank Tipson, lead Barbara Hann, and No 2 Derek Croll. No 3 Beryl Robinson had to leave before the presentation.
RBA President Alan Luckcraft responded, adding his thanks to the catering staff. He told Stonyhill players: “We have enjoyed your company and enjoyed the game. We do like coming here!
“While everyone is enjoying the game, it is a winner for the sport itself.”
